According to the Public Relations Office of the Qom Seminary Scholars’ Community, the text of the message of appreciation addressed to Pope Leo XIV is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Your Holiness Pope Leo XIV, esteemed leader of Christians,
Greetings and respect,
We express our gratitude and appreciation for your wise and courageous positions in condemning the oppression and aggression of the U.S. regime against Iran and for your benevolent efforts toward achieving peace, and we denounce the U.S. President’s insults toward you.
Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), in order to save humanity from the darkness of polytheism, disbelief, ignorance, and injustice, turned toward the people and was sent to deliver the divine message, spread the light of knowledge and justice, and call for servitude to God. Surely, the oppressive behavior of the ignorant U.S. President has no connection or similarity with the teachings of that prophet who was a herald of mercy and guidance.
Today, the arrogant U.S. system, through its abnormal and oppressive conduct and by attributing its actions to Christian teachings, commits a grave injustice against that great divine prophet and the Christian faith. And certainly, the Christian community does not agree with or support its crimes.
The Qom Seminary Scholars’ Community, while supporting your clear and decisive stance in defense of global peace, hopes that with the awakening of human societies and the sincere efforts of the flag‑bearers of religion and spirituality, religious values will become the basis and axis of action for realizing human happiness, social justice, and human dignity — and that with the collapse of all arrogant and oppressive foundations, we will witness the growth of moral virtues and the end of tyranny and oppression.
