Ayatollah Mohsen Mohammadi Iraqi (Araki): he was born in pious family in Holy Najaf. His father, deceased Ayatollah Sheikh Habibollah Iraki, was the free-spirited jurisprudent and famous professor of Najaf seminary. He learnt elementary and levels courses and some of courses (such as the explanation of Samadieh, Hashie Mola Abdollah, some of knowledge and explanation of lum’ah, Kifayah) by his father, and he was aught the rest of his education by prominent professors and jurisprudents of Najaf seminary. After ending the level in 1353 A.H.S , he was taught the higher stages of seminary courses (advanced jurisprudence ) by prominent professors such as Ayatollah Khoee, Ayatollah seyed Mohammad Baqer Sadr ,… .
Political activities: he associated with the imam because of his strong interest in Imam, and he was activated in publishing the works and announcements and book “Islamic government” of Imam Khomeini in Iraq. On the other hand, he actively participated in the course session of Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Baqer Sadr. He was invited to cooperate with martyr Qodosi and Beheshti from the entering Qom. He was invited in Haqani school and engaged in teaching theological studies in this school and political activities against monarchy regime.
He continuously participated in advanced jurisprudence courses of grand ayatollahs: Vahid Khorasiani (about one complete period), deceased Mirza Kazem Tabrizi (advanced jurisprudence: part of discussion of prayer and dead-land ( lands that cannot be used for agriculture and Makasib (for4 years), Seyyed Kazem Haeri (advanced jurisprudence: discussion of purity (specific Islamic way of purification), hire, Islamic government, dead-lands, Guardianship of Islam , Khumus( one-fifth on qualifying amounts/things), capability for issuing Islamic edict (Ijtihad), imitating and justice) , and completed his judicial and fundamental principles of Islam. also, required knowledge from the course sessions of deceased ayatollah Motahari (journeys), deceased Ayatollah Beheshti ( Hegel philosophy , during the holidays1976-1978), Ayatollah Javadi Amoli and Mesbah Yazdi (end of philosophical mysticism) of the transcendent theosophy and west philosophy.
In 1979 , he established the first seminary in Khoramshahr named “ the center of Islamic studies” and he also established the cultural center named” promoting Islam “ to propagating Islamic culture in around city and village, and started a wide cultural activities in that region. In the beginning 1359A.H.S (1980), he was appointed as the religious law ruler of Abadan and Khoramshahr by the edict of martyrs Beheshti and Qodosi, and engaged in juridical activities beside cultural activities. In1983 he established the military branch of supreme Assembly of Islamic revolution of Iraq well- known as “the 9th Badr army”. He was responsible for representation of Islamic guardian in the Badr Army from 1366(1988) to 1375(1998) A.H.SA. In 1366(1988), he established the “Islamic thought convention” by the cooperation of group of seminary scholars in Qom. In 1373 A.H.S.(1996) , he was sent to British by the edict of the supreme leader to establish the big Islamic center of British and launch the representation of the supreme leader in this country.
Finally, after 10 years activation, he returned to homeland and continued his previous cultural and scientific activities inside the country by allowing of the Supreme leader in 1384A.H.S. After returning from British, he was appointed as the member of the supreme council of The World forum for proximity of Islamic of thought and the member of supreme council of world forum of Ahlolbeit by the edict of the supreme leader. And he was appointed as vice – chairman and the secretary of supreme council and the supervisor of world body of Ahlolbeit by selecting the supreme council of mentioned forum. In 2012, he succeeded in achieving the Ph.D. Portsmouth University, London, that his Ph.D.’s thesis was a book named” freedom and causality”. Despite of work occupation, His Excellency attended to serve in compilation arena and has written many works in Persian, Arabic, English until now.
